Board of Directors
Alessandro Cota
Treasurer
Alessandro Cota is originally from Brazil and currently lives with his family in San Antonio, Texas, where he works as a teacher. Even though he graduated from law school in Brazil, he devoted many years to the study of the humanities -- especially philosophy, literature, and history. In 2009, he decided to start attending the Tridentine Mass in Richmond, VA, and fell in love with it. This newfound love sparked his rediscovery of Scripture, Catholic theology, and spirituality, and has been a continuous inspiration for his work for the Church.
Prior Benedict Nivakoff, OSB
Secretary
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Prior Benedict Nivakoff entered the Monastero di San Benedetto in Norcia in 2001. He studied philosophy at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome and theology at the International Theological Institute in Gaming, Austria. He was ordained a priest in 2008. He was elected prior of the Monastery of San Benedetto in Monte after the earthquake of 2016, succeeding Fr. Cassian Folsom, O.S.B., the founder of the monastery.
Grace E. Smith
Development Director
Grace E. Smith was born in Brazil, having spent part of her childhood in her father's native state of Texas, where she lived for many years. Back in Brazil she completed her undergraduate studies in Music from the Federal University of Paraiba and a teaching degree from the Catholic University of Brasilia, prior to her Masters degree in Music from the University of Hartford, Connecticut. Raised as a Roman Catholic, Grace first encountered the Traditional Latin Mass while pursuing her piano studies in London in 2006. When she relocated to Brazil in 2013 she began attending a diocesan TLM in Natal, where she became organist and Music Director up to this date. In this parish she met her beloved husband with whom she has two children.
