The priests of the Personal Apostolic Administration participate in ongoing formation, especially in the first decade after their ordination. Annual retreats are held at the seminary, supplementing ongoing fraternal accompaniment and spiritual direction. There are also frequent individual retreats and visits by diocesan and religious priests, both from within Brazil and from abroad. The visitors come to learn the Tridentine Latin Mass and the discipline of traditional Catholicism, and the demand for this formation is constant. Some visitors are hosted in the larger parishes, such as Bom Jesus, others stay at the seminary, if the availability of guest rooms and the academic schedule permit.
The fourth wing of the seminary that is currently being finished has an expanded facility specifically designed for clerical retreats, located on the third floor. It includes lodging for up to ten visiting priests, a private refectory, a classroom, a large chapel and sacristy, and four smaller altars for private Masses or practice. With the new separate space for this activity the Personal Apostolic Administration will be better able to serve their own clergy for ongoing formation and fraternal support, but also expand their ability to offer workshops and retreats for visiting clergy. The separation of the facilities also aids in providing formation for clergy without disturbing the normal life and routine of the seminary.

The walls and roof of the fourth wing are up, the electric and water are in. The brick walls are now being cemented. Plaster and tile will follow. All of the construction materials to finish the building have been donated by the great generosity of area shops and factories. What remains now are the furnishings: A bed, desk and chair, and clothes cupboard for each room; a conference room table and chairs for the classroom; a family-style dining table and chairs for the refectory; pews for the chapel, and three wardrobes and cabinets for the sacristy.
The estimated cost for these furnishings is approximately US$23,000. Friends of Campos is happy to support this project. Besides the valued ongoing formation of the priests of the Personal Apostolic Administration, we have seen that there is high demand around Brazil for the Tridentine Mass, and more young priests and seminarians are seeking formation to be able to celebrate Masses in the Tridentine rite in their parishes. The Personal Apostolic Administration does not have the calling nor the resources to serve throughout Brazil: the priority is on the diocese of Campos. The more priests from other regions can study and return to serve their own communities, the more parishes can be well-served.
Thank you for your generous help, of whatever quantity you can afford.
